Treats, baby Beau and simple procedures

My Saturday doesn't officially begin until I get my Fiiz fix and a bag of goldfish to enhance the sweet deliciousness of my drink. It's one of my favorite treats without question! (If only it wasn't one of the highest caloric treats in my diet.)
The "Berry Bad Doctor " 'completes me'!

McClane loves to snuggle any and all dogs that he finds lying around.
Smalls is always good for a snuggle.

Cute baby Beau came to hang out for a few hours on Wednesday and she is a busy girl. She loves 'trapping' herself under the stool where we normally keep the dogs food and water.

And today was my turn for a short stent in the hospital to have a few moles removed for vanities sake. I had a weird mole on the tip of my nose that was starting to annoy me and another, newer one, on my shoulder so I decided it might be time to get those removed. I have had this done before by a great plastic surgeon, the same one who did Greg's carpal tunnel surgery and he used to do these mole removals in his office so it was pretty simple but apparently over the years he's changed his views and no longer will do anything on the nose without general anesthesia because a needle in the nose is what he calls a "memory maker" so just to make it easier he puts the patient under and I LOVE being put to sleep! A medicated nap is a pleasant experience for me and waking up isn't bad at all so I was happy to sign up. The bill might be a little more but well worth it in my opinion. And as a bonus he removed several more moles on my face and neck so I got more bang for my buck!

The only real annoyance is the IV but still worth it!

So now I get to 'recover' for a few days. I've already done 5 loads of laundry today so I'm pretty sure this recovery won't be anything special. And what a great time to be able to wear a mask!! Ha ha. Now I can keep my stitches under 'wraps' until things are looking a little better. Thanks Covid!

The 4th of July & 25 years of wedded bliss!

There's been some fun activities this week for all of us. Greg got to take McClane for a quick ride in the cool Vanderhall our friends own. We celebrated the 4th of July with a few friends in the neighborhood. Greg and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday and splurged on a little get-away to the very fancy Montage hotel/resort. We might have felt a little out of place but it was fun and for the first time in our lives we experienced room service. I could definitely get used to that.
McClane was having the time of his life.

Our 4th of July was more low key this year but still a fun time.

Early firework fun with some of the neighborhood kids.

Smoke bombs and snakes were a hit for the kids.

These hummingbirds knocked themselves out flying into our french doors and we were trying to keep them safe from the pets until they finally got their bearings and could fly away. Pretty weird but cool to get a chance to hold the cute little things.

This gorgeous view in Big Cottonwood canyon was a great prelude to the beautiful stay we had for our anniversary.

Welcome to the Montage in Deer Valley. So massive and fancy!

Our room had heated floors in the bathroom, a breathtaking view and our own private balcony.

Our selfies need some work!

    Dinner was nice and quiet.

The views were so amazing. Greg and the mountains were both nice to look at.

Greg loves playing corn-hole.

Room Service for breakfast, best thing ever!

Charlie's living her best life. She spent the day hiking with her two buddies, JT and Juju (With their dad as supervisor) and then ended her day with an outdoor movie with the same good friends.
She got to hike to the Y and was the motivator for her friends to get to the top.

Her best friend JT is turning 8 this month but at 6 years old Charlie's still a head taller them him.

They got to watch "Space Jam".

Lots of fun stuff, Covid can't keep us completely down! This coming week will likely be a little quieter but I'm sure we'll find something to keep us busy.

A simpler week.

This week has been relatively simple. We had a quick and nice visit with my cousin and his cute wife and extended some minor help with their move into a new apartment just a few miles down the road from us in Vineyard.

A fun game to play while they wait.

Charlie is back to dressing like her dad. We also had our weekly ice cream fix with several neighbors. The weather was sketchy but we didn't let that stop us.
So many yummy flavors of ice cream and fun toppings to choose from.

Wednesday I had my first "girls-night" in months, which was super fun and there was lots of yummy food and the ice cream desserts were quite impressive.
This was a kid-sized ice cream sundae!

The weather started out weird this week but sometimes its nice to have a little break in the heat but I sure love the summer weather and especially summer nights. It's hard to believe tomorrow is July 4th and a little sad that it's going to be different then our traditional neighborhood gathering but I think we'll still manage to make it fun and special. Happy birthday America!

Just a bunch of random stuff

It's been a good week. Father's Day was nice, unfortunately all the gifts for Greg are still undelivered. He did get an apple watch a week or two early so he wasn't completely neglected in the gift department. He's definitely one of the best dad's out there!
Church at home brings on some interesting wardrobe choices for my boys.
Charlie was so happy to spend time with her cousins this week.
Father's Day dinner.

Another fun hairdo.
Greg's happier every day about his decision to have the carpal tunnel surgery.
Greg's hands four days post-opt. He's improving more and more each day.

Finally got to try out the new park in Cedar Hills.
McClane's such a good boy.

Charlie loved the zip line.

Beau wasn't too excited about the splash pad part of the park.
Carter and his buddies went to Lagoon and got pretty silly on the haunted house ride. It's not Carter in the videos but one of his friends.

The dogs were obsessed with Judy when she stopped by this week.

We also caught them snuggling on the couch. I'm not sure Smalls agreed to this but he was too lazy to do anything about it.

So there's the week highlights. I can't believe June is nearly over! Summer always goes too quickly!

Hiking, ice cream, dog door, hair bows & surgery

Greg and I treated ourselves to a nice little hike Saturday morning, which was beautiful and not too strenuous. We live in one of the most beautiful places!
Three Falls

We saw two of the three falls.
A great way to start our Saturday.
And sometimes, ok most times, people build giant houses in Alpine!

And back down in the 'poor' part of town where ice cream is made by cranking a handle on a wooden bucket, that's where real happiness lies.
M & M with the hair from WHERE!?

Brothers sharing the ice cream making joys.

What a great bunch of neighbors we have!
And before Greg had his surgery he finally installed the more permanent doggie door. It was a big job but he did it with only one finger sliced and now my bedroom sliding door can be used for what it was meant for.

And he even put together a little landing for them off the deck so they can safely go in and out. Spoiled dogs!

And Charlie made a hairstyle request, which turned out pretty close to what she was hoping.

My original sign didn't hold up too well in the winter weather so Kayli made me a better one and I love it!

And it was finally surgery (Carpal Tunnel) day for Greg. He was a little anxious but all went well and now he can look forward to full functioning hands with no numbness and pain. I can't wait for a nice long Harley ride!
Dressed and ready to go.

Hands before and after.
He did great but he wasn't doing or saying anything silly, he just kept asking what time it was and telling me how weird it felt as they wheeled him away and things started getting dizzy. He also thanked me several times for being with him and wanted me to hold his hand. He was happy to have it done and over with.

Now he's home and back to his favorite spot.

Now we can look forward to recovery and more summer projects. And of course more ice cream, hiking and other fun stuff!

The after party!

So this photo depicts how we felt after Tent City! We definitely needed a little nap/early bed time the next day or five. We did enjoy a fun visit from my cousin, Nathan and his cute wife this week. Charlie especially enjoyed having extra people around to visit with. She's definitely our social butterfly! (They were here shopping apartments for their big move here, to Utah County, next month.)
Sometimes you fall asleep outside before 7 PM.
And this video of baby Beau is about as cute as it gets. Her little jabber voice is priceless! You can't help but smile when you hear her. She's ADORABLE!!

We're a week out from Greg's carpal tunnel surgery. Lets hope nothing interferes with that plan because he's definitely looking forward to some relief from his pain and discomfort. Now on to a quiet, relaxing weekend.
