Our last week of May 2013

School is officially over for us and our last week was pretty full.  Both Carter and Mark finished up their baseball season and unfortunately lost their first tournament games which was a bit sad but that's life.  We had a super cool visitor come to our primary last Sunday and we ended our week with Tent City in the backyard and tomorrow will be Kayli's official 16th birthday.  (There's something wrong with this picture because I'm pretty sure I'm only in my 20's still but whatever.)
Now on to a few photos of our last week of May.

Here's the special visitor we had in primary last Sunday.  I think his name was Marvin or Melvin but he was super cute.

That's right, that's Kayli driving us home from G & G's.

A shot of Carter and his baseball team after their final game.

McClane being the model of birthday decor at Hobby Lobby.

He's such a great poser.

Caught in the act of redecorating Kayli's birthday cake.  It did say "1D rules, Happy Birthday Kayli" but apparently McClane didn't like my work and did a little decorating of his own.

He put himself down for a nap after reaching what I can only assume was a pretty good sugar coma from all the frosting.

Here are the cakes I made for Roxy (10) and Kayli (16).  McClane's redecorating at least didn't involve big handfuls of cake being gone.

Here's Kayli being sung to even though her birthday isn't really until tomorrow.

It was also Roxy's (Heidi's step daughter.) birthday just a couple of days ago so we made a cake for her too but McClane didn't get a chance to redecorate for her.  Oh well, maybe next time.

I know this photo is out of order but it's a little better photo of our primary visitor.  This is also our neighbor, Janice, who was kangaroo sitting this cute little guy.
Now we move into June and celebrating Kayli's birthday and getting on with summer vacation.  Kayli will be having a combined birthday celebration with her friend Kelzie this coming Thursday.  They're planning on having a barbecue up in the Canyon which should be fun.  All I know is that I'm actually looking forward to this summer going quickly but also hoping we get a few fun activities in before this baby comes and school starts up again.

Just for fun.

What can this guy do to get you in a new/used car today?
Anyone need a cool sports coat, the D.I. has a great selection and believe it or not it's not a bad spot for Friday night date night:-)

Happy Mom Day and a Random Few!

Mother's day itself was far from special but there were a few highlights leading up to it.  Here's a little video clip from Brock and his preschool class singing a song for all the moms.

And then here are a few random photos from this past week of a couple of the boys.

Seriously, how cute is he?!

He's even cute with a bucket on his head.  He's also a little weird and crazy:-)

And here's a shot from just last night at our ward fundraiser.
      And that's all folks!

Carter's big day!

Carter was baptized May 4, 2013. It was a super special day and we got to share it with the Wardle family in our ward, Victor Gabriel Wardle to be specific.  Carter's older brother Mark gave a talk on the Holy Ghost that grandma Baker emailed to us and he did a very nice job.  It's hard to believe that Carter is eight years old.  He was just a tiny baby when we moved into this house.  Anyway, after the baptism we came here to the house for a nice lunch and a little cake and ice cream in honor of Mark and Carter's birthday.

Carter was dressed and ready to go to the church fairly early.  He was definitely excited and a bit anxious.
Greg and Carter all ready to go.
This was supposed to be a parent and son photo but McClane had to be included.
Remember when we took our family photo in front of a mirror, yeah, we weren't thinking!
He's all baptized and enjoying his special day with family!
And the one thing Brock couldn't stop thinking about, CAKE!  Good thing Mark and Carter were willing to share with him and everyone else.  Thanks to everyone who came to support our handsome boy, Carter, on his big day and to the rest who couldn't be there, we know you would have come if you could.  Next big family event, Kayli's sweet 16!  WHAT?!?!

Cinco De Mayo!

Our neighbor thought it would be fun to celebrate Cinco de Mayo again (we did it last year) with a few neighbors in our backyard and it was definitely a fun night.  Everyone brought plenty of yummy food to share and the piƱata was definitely a hit with the kids.

McClane got the first few whacks.

Carter got a few good hits in too.
Just a "few" kids going in for a treat or two.

McClane was really loving the big ball.  Unfortunately the ball didn't survive the night but it was fun while it lasted.  Here's to finding any excuse for a neighborhood gathering!

Mark's 13!

I failed to include Mark's 13th birthday last week so let me just highlight his birthday with a few photos.

Thirteen balloons!
His first gift.
What, just a note?!
Or a clue?
The final clue led to here.
I'm certain he was thrilled with this gift!
Birthday cards and money from G & G Baker.
And from G & G Kmetzsch.  And he was a good boy and put all but $2 dollars toward his savings.

And then there was cake and ice cream. Mark shared this event with Carter and a good portion of the Kmetzsch clan.  I think Mark is a happy 13 year old boy and there's no doubt he's a great addition to our family and a special boy who constantly surprises us and keeps us laughing.

A Handsome Little Helper!

Do you need your lawn mowed?  I have just the 'guy' to take care of that for you.

He wasn't giving up helping with the mowing.

How sweet!
The funniest thing was when he would lose his grip and Greg would speed up and try to get away and McClane wouldn't even notice, he'd just run until he finally got his grip back on that mower.  How can you be annoyed with this cute little helper?!
