Cute Trouble

We have trouble at our house :-) JJ created a bit of havoc while he was here…
He has such a somber and innocent look.  He's a stinker!
He managed to do this twice in less than 24 hours. After a few kids you would think I would remember to keep things out of reach but... no... I forgot.
And now Charlie thinks she's hot stuff and is crawling all over the place and has found many interesting things to explore.  BIG TROUBLE!!
Sorry for the blurry photo but she wasn't exactly sitting still.
Carter had to have bottom braces put on his teeth.

Not the best photo of his actual bottom braces but at least he was smiling for a minute. He definitely gets a sore mouth for days after having his braces tightened or installed. It will be worth it in the end but it hasn't been the experience he was hoping for.
Mark got to go to the temple with a couple of his buddies this past week. He was really impressed with the new and improved baptistery at the Mt. Timpanogoos Temple.
Best buddies, Marcus, Mason and Mark.  They could form a boy band, 'The Triple M's" or just "M&M&M"
Isaac learned to make crepes at scouts this week and is currently at an overnight camping trip with his 11-year-old scout group where they will get to put their new crepe making skills to the test.
Isaac loves crepes and scouts, put the two together and he's a happy boy!
And here are the bonus photos of the week :-)
How many small boys can push two big boys in a Suzuki Samurai! Just three!
She was trying to cuddle with Brock and I asked her to look and this is what I got.  Kind of creepy!
Recently Charlie has become Brock's favorite 'thing' to play with.  "Look Mom, Charlie can stand all by herself!"
So that's our week in a nutshell.  Oh yeah, and we went to Seven Peaks water park for the first time this summer and I left my phone/camera in the car, so no photos, just the ones Kayli took with Charlie and posted on Facebook and Instagram.  It was fun but exhausting!

The end of a fun vacation

Our vacation ended all too soon but not without t-shirt souvenirs.
No tie-dye for Charlie but it does say her t-shirts from Gold Beach, Oregon so it works for me.  (She'll be wearing McClane's t-shirt before we know it anyway.)
Our final day in Klamath had some fun moments...
It's blurry because she's SPINNING!
Probably the top three highlights of our entire trip minus having a nasty cold that made breathing difficult.  THANKS DAD FOR BEING A COOL BIKER GUY AGAIN!!
Uncle Guy or "man" as he's know to Brock with several of the nieces and nephews.
It's not the video I wanted to post but this is Charlie in crawling motion and her first official crawl.
And the kids got to snuggle a couple of these adorable puppies that my cousin J.J.  breeds.
And now we're home and this helicopter...
(Thanks Dad and sorry it probably won't last as long as it did for you.)
became such an attraction for McClane that I had to hide it and I've been telling him it's on a trip to space for a few days just to avoid him breaking it beyond repair.  He's mentioned it more than once and will say, "helicopter is at space."  (Hey, it keeps him from throwing a tantrum and I did hide it in a high cabinet so it's in cabinet space, same thing as space!)
And this little cutie has come for a two night visit and he's been an absolute angel.
Charlie thinks he's pretty great, Cousin J.J. the monkey boy.
Summer is flying by and there's still so much more we want to do!

Grandma's house AND the beach!

We finally got to go to Oregon to start our much needed vacation. So far it's been fantastic!  First we spent 'a minute' at G & G Baker's house and a little time at Klamath Lake.
Charlie getting a good look at her grandpa in his leather 'biker' vest!
At Klamath Lake feeding seagulls because we couldn't see any ducks.
Now on to the beach and our fun/rustic beach house at Gold Beach, Oregon.
Our fun beach house.

The back of the beach house.
  • The cool monkey tree out in the front of the beach house.  I'd love to take it home but they frown on removing 'permanent' vegetation.

First day on the deck of the beach house.  Got to love that view behind them!
Flying kites all day, every day.
This little beauty hit her 10-month mark our second day on the beach.
Brock couldn't get enough of the sand and water.
Kayli was such a great helper with the little people.
They really enjoyed the hot tubs on the beach.
Memories to last a life time!!
Buried 'alive'!
Mark's turn!

Isaac became pretty good at the 'skim board' as did Mark and Carter.  Thanks to Uncle Paul for letting us borrow those three boards.
Yes!  It came out of the bucket almost perfectly.
Tiny Charlie feet.
There's nothing like putting my feet in the sand, I love IT!
Despite the wind we still managed to have a fire on the beach.
Naps with this girl are the best.
So MUCH FUN!!
I've taken many, many more photos but these 'few' photos give you a small glimpse into our fun.  We've had wind, rain and sun, yummy pizza from the two pizza places in Gold Beach, dilly bars from the nearby DQ and lots of snacks and soda.  We all had a GREAT time and between flying kites, playing in the hot tubs, doing a little skim boarding, sitting on the beach around a fire roasting marshmallows and enjoying the cable TV in the beach house I'd say we've made the most of our three full days on the Oregon Coast and Greg's managed to stay off the phone with work problems for at least today ;-).

Birthday, champions and dreams

Kayli is officially 17 years old and hopefully she enjoyed all the different birthday celebrations she had starting with tent city then moving on to cake with her siblings then off to dinner and a movie with her aunts and grandma and lunch with friends the following day. That should be enough celebration to keep her happy for another year.
17 balloons to start off the day!
A delicious tuxedo cake from Costco and an awesome photo bomb by Isaac.
Happy birthday from G & G Baker!  Kayli says thanks for the card and money.
McClane has had a semi hard week. He's come down with a little virus and has had a couple of rough nights coughing and wheezing and here is a photo or two of him sleeping and visiting the doctors office.
He wasn't actually sick here but he was obviously tired to fall asleep all hunched over like this.
McClane was pretty curious about all the stuff at the doctor's office and he was happy to cooperate.
I just think he's so cute!
Hopefully with enough rest he'll be well and happy in time for our trip to Oregon.  The doctor we saw wasn't our regular doctor and I felt his diagnoses was a bit off the mark so I won't even bother mentioning it here but I do plan on taking him back to our regular doctor in a couple of weeks to get his take on the matter.
Mark's baseball team had their tournament games this past week and the final game was Thursday night and was quite intense. Mark was not at his best due to spending all day at our Stake Youth "Book of Mormon Live" activity but the team together did great and came out two runs ahead winning the championship. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with Mark's baseball coach who devoted more time than most to the boys and practicing hard with them and it definitely paid off.
The team lined up to receive their trophies.
Mark getting his trophy from his coach, Dave Lawrence.
The whole team at home plate.  I'm actually a little sad baseball season is over but what a great ending! (Mark's on his knee in the shadows on the right.)
And let me just share my latest dream..... new patio furniture :-)
This was at Costco and a dream it will always be at that price. ($2499.99)
Or this one...
Again, too expensive but it sure is nice!
So that's our week in a nutshell.  Next week should prove to be extra adventurous and the whole family is more than excited about it!
