The end?

I'm not necessarily very sentimental but last Sunday when these cowboy boots

no longer fit McClane I started thinking this may be the last time any of my kids wear these cute boots.  I don't feel this way about many of the shoes and clothes my kids wear but the cowboy boots have been especially popular for most my boys so it kind of hit a nerve.  Anyway, so long cowboy boots!
          And just for fun......
A mustache and a shark, it's just too much testosterone!

And now on to the 4th of July!!!

Father's Day.....

Father's Day was more exciting this year than most because it was also the day Mark returned from a ten day trip to Disney World with his Kmetzsch grandparents.  Needless to say, he had a great time and had a few things to share and hand out to his parents and siblings.
This is the hat Mark bought for himself and McClane thinks it's pretty cool too.
Mark had some fun suckers for all his brothers.
McClane loved his.
Mark got Greg and me a cute Mickey Mouse spatula and a back scratcher, this is just the spatula though.
And he even got his sister Kayli something, a keychain with stickers so she could personalize it.
And for those who know me you'll be especially impressed with my attempt at a self-made gift for Greg for Father's Day!  (I think there's room enough for one more tiny handprint that we'll add in just a couple of months.)
And on the back we put these roadways so the kids can drive their Hotwheels on his back when he's lying down.
And we also had a chance to squish this little monkey on Father's Day!  Seriously people, the head of silk he has is irresistible:-)
So that's the scoop for this week.  Next week Mark leaves us again but this time to scout camp so I'm not looking forward to those "souvenirs".  (Dirty, stinky clothes and camping gear!)

Getting Bigger!

I'm getting bigger....

30 Weeks, only about 10 more to go.  (Hopefully only 9!)
Brock is getting bigger.....

He lost his first tooth!
And even McClane.....
He's become his own hairstylist.  Apparently this requires the round brush and blow dryer, kind of like what mom uses:-)
So there's the recent "growth" to our family.

16 year old girl, cute 2 year old boy.

So it's official, Kayli is 16!
The traditional bunch of balloons!
She had a friend party just the other night and had a great time until she had to come home before anyone else.  Yep, we're about the meanest parents around.  I told Greg I hoped Kayli would have a memorable 16th birthday and now I'm sure she will:-)  Sorry there's no photos of the party but I wasn't invited and Kayli didn't take her camera but hopefully her friends mom will send us copies of the photos she took.
Also this past week McClane has been super cute and fun which isn't necessarily a new thing but we actually captured a few moments so I can share.
This was him at the school playground with Mark.  It's probably a good thing I wasn't there because this probably would have freaked me out but he mastered going down the pole without injury.
Then Mark took McClane and Brock to the nearby splash pad and I decided to drop by and check up on them and this is where they were hanging out.  McClane's not a big fan of the cold water but he loves being with his big brother.  And what a great help Mark is keeping these two younger boys happy and busy.

This is McClane cuddling with Rosie.  She's a pretty patient dog.
This was McClane's self-application of hair mousse.  I guess he wanted a little more style than just spray from the water bottle can provide.
And here's McClane attempting to drive both the bike and wiggle car at the same time.  Really he just saw the wiggle car at the neighbors and thought he'd help out by bringing it back home.  I think it was one of his brothers he was leaving stranded but oh well.
So that's our week in a nutshell.  We some how survived the first full week of summer vacation.  Mark's currently in Florida with his grandparents having fun at Disney World and the rest of us are just enjoying the beautiful weather and fairly easy going summer break.

Our last week of May 2013

School is officially over for us and our last week was pretty full.  Both Carter and Mark finished up their baseball season and unfortunately lost their first tournament games which was a bit sad but that's life.  We had a super cool visitor come to our primary last Sunday and we ended our week with Tent City in the backyard and tomorrow will be Kayli's official 16th birthday.  (There's something wrong with this picture because I'm pretty sure I'm only in my 20's still but whatever.)
Now on to a few photos of our last week of May.

Here's the special visitor we had in primary last Sunday.  I think his name was Marvin or Melvin but he was super cute.

That's right, that's Kayli driving us home from G & G's.

A shot of Carter and his baseball team after their final game.

McClane being the model of birthday decor at Hobby Lobby.

He's such a great poser.

Caught in the act of redecorating Kayli's birthday cake.  It did say "1D rules, Happy Birthday Kayli" but apparently McClane didn't like my work and did a little decorating of his own.

He put himself down for a nap after reaching what I can only assume was a pretty good sugar coma from all the frosting.

Here are the cakes I made for Roxy (10) and Kayli (16).  McClane's redecorating at least didn't involve big handfuls of cake being gone.

Here's Kayli being sung to even though her birthday isn't really until tomorrow.

It was also Roxy's (Heidi's step daughter.) birthday just a couple of days ago so we made a cake for her too but McClane didn't get a chance to redecorate for her.  Oh well, maybe next time.

I know this photo is out of order but it's a little better photo of our primary visitor.  This is also our neighbor, Janice, who was kangaroo sitting this cute little guy.
Now we move into June and celebrating Kayli's birthday and getting on with summer vacation.  Kayli will be having a combined birthday celebration with her friend Kelzie this coming Thursday.  They're planning on having a barbecue up in the Canyon which should be fun.  All I know is that I'm actually looking forward to this summer going quickly but also hoping we get a few fun activities in before this baby comes and school starts up again.
