Prom for Kayli and family fun

I can't believe this day finally came. I'm happy for Kayli but a little scared about this milestone we've reached. I'm over the moon with her prom date/boyfriend, Todd. He's impressing me at every turn. He was born in Japan and lived there the first 10 years of his life and speaks fluent Japanese. He's leaving July 8th for an LDS mission to the Japan Tokyo mission and is an overall nice guy and has been treating Kayli like a princess! Here's several photos of the start of her big night.
Kayli decorating her cousins who were enjoying the "princess" details.
Blue eyeshadow to go with Shae's cute blue shirt.
All dolled up! (McClane is oblivious to his surroundings.)
Our two book-ends/princesses!
Proud dad and daughter.
Annoyed daughter & Crazy Father!
Charlie thought this was great, Kayli DID NOT!
Greg wasn't actually on the front porch with a shotgun when Kayli's date actually arrived but our house was full of spectators, which was probably quite intimidating for Kayli's date. He was a good sport.
Take #2, (Todd forget the corsage in the car and had to go back and come in a second time.)

The pin bent and mom/I had to rescue her. (Good thing we'd watched that YouTube video on how to pin on a boutonnière.)
Pretty!
Greg has CRAZY eyes!
The prom is held at the Capitol building so we extended her curfew a bit. We also trust her date to bring her home on time.
As for the rest of the week, we've had some real fun. Mainly our swim night at the Provo Rec. Center Monday night with Ben, Jackie and their girls.
Take note of Brock, this was about the only time I could catch him on camera.
Charlie was in heaven and Kayli was a great helper and allowed me to get some fun photos. Every other time I've been to this place I've been too busy chasing kids to take photos.
Ben and Kirra.
He LOVED every second of this place!
Cheesy Isaac!
Jackie and Kirra.
Mark scaling the rock wall.
Greg attempting the rock wall.
Isaac's turn.
Carter didn't have much luck on the rock wall.

The only other photo I have with Brock in it.
This is about the 4th time we've been to this pool but this was the first time I got to actually enjoy some of the activities, like the slides.
Swimming is exhausting.

He just CRASHED! I love that he's wearing his goggles.
Dress-ups!
I'm sad to say that our time with our Aussie cousins, aunt and uncle is coming to an end. They fly out tomorrow and we're not happy about it. It's been great having them here and we sure wish Australia was a bit closer. Thank goodness for Skype and other modern technology.

Slow and snow

It's been a much slower week after a fun spring break. Not a whole lot has been going on at our house but here are a few photos I managed to take this week.
Can you imagine life where you just stop and sleep wherever you are. It sure would make things more interesting at church, doctors office, school, etc. I'd sure love to stop and sleep whenever I get the urge.
Meet the biggest "chicken" dog, Rosie. She's not a fan of loud noises and with the wind knocking over  barbecues on the deck she took the first chance to bolt in the house. She's only allowed on the hard floor, she's also very obedient. Clearly McClane is thrilled with her inside visit.
Just a little spring snowstorm.
Cute kids having lunch.
And just for random fun, this was a wild horse right in front of us on our way home last Saturday.
Now I get to look forward to a pretty simple Saturday and Greg gets to clean up the yard!

Family Vacation to Oregon

It's been 3+ years since my whole family has been together. A few new 'littles' have joined the clan and a few of the older kids have grown quite tall and we actually were able to get a photo of them altogether. Unfortunately I don't have the actual photo of the whole family but I do have a photo of all the grandkids.
22 cute grandkids.
It was too cold to take photos outside so this is where it happened.
We also got a fun photo of mom & dad/grandma & grandpa.
They're a little silly!
Then the kids had a little Easter treat from Grandma. Each grandkid had to answer a question grandma invented (on the spot) before they got their egg that had a little treat and cash.
It was a mob scene.
McClane was being so sweet.
Isaac's turn.
Carter's up!
Mark's a bit of a goofball.
Kayli's question wasn't as hard as she expected.
Charlie didn't have to answer a question because she's the "favorite".
Then Kayli and I did a little prom dress shopping and found this cute little number.
Pretty in blue!
There was also an attempt to recreate this photo.
This was taken in 1988. I was 14 and Marie, the youngest was about 2.
Recreating this was more fun than taking the original photo I'm sure.
We did our best recreating our facial expressions.
NAILED IT!
My mom requested a Temple trip to the Medford Temple with her four daughters. It was great!
Me/Shirley, Marie, Elaine, Ann and Jackie.
This Temple is a mini size. So pretty!
Then we went to Crater Lake. The drive alone was breathtaking at almost every turn and then you get to the actual Lake and you're blown away. I'm so glad Greg insisted we go.

There's just a 'little' snow accumulation.
So pretty!

McClane was pretty thrilled with all the snow to play in until someone threw snow down his back.
Seriously, this place is so GORGEOUS!
All 9 of us!

Uncle Guy joined us and was our designated photographer for the family photos. This is photo proof that he was with us.
This cute little Methodist church was along the way and we couldn't resist stopping to take a photo.
And this was one property along the way that looked too picturesque to not take a photo.
Now here are a 'few' random cute photos from the week.
Watching a movie in the barn.
Borrowing any and all snow gear from the 'lost and found' bin at the barn.
Girl cousins with matching hairdos.
Jovi, Kayli, Lottie and Shae.
Grandpa enjoying some Aussie snuggles.

Grandma and a rare moment with Kirra where Kirra's not crying.
Grandma with Shae and Jovi heading into the Rogue Valley Mall for a little lunch.
These four doing a little Jenga building and demo.
Brock getting a motorcycle ride with Grandpa.
Sleepy girl.
Our trip is winding down and we're not sure how to feel about it. It's been a little different staying at the barn on the ranch. It actually felt like we were on a real vacation. I know the kids had fun and were especially thrilled with the use of my uncle Mark's quads. They would have just rode quads all over the ranch 24/7 if we would have let them.
McClane and Carter
Isaac
Mark and Charlie
Mark, Carter and McClane
We also had fun hanging out with the Larson cousins who also provided quad rides and pool. It really was a fantastic week and we were so happy we could be together with all 35 members of the Jim and Elaine Baker family! See you again in three years ;-)
