Dates

So Carter and Charlie had some fun date photos I want to share. Charlie's got a new buddy, Benny, who's recently moved to Alpine and they've become fast friends. She recently got to spend his birthday with him and they definitely had a blast. They went to Scheels and rode the ferris wheel and then got ice cream.
And Carter finally got photos back from the last school dance that he went to so I can finally share those.
They made friends with this girl while waiting in line.
Who do you think is from Utah?! Shorts, on a winter night, eating ice cream, only a native Utahn would be so bold! Those are definitely shivers in her eyes!

Cute couple!

Carter and his good friend, Keaton.

The four 'boyzz'!

Looks like a fun group of young men.

What a background!

And Charlie got new heart leggings so it only made sense to do a heart hair-do.

These sunsets are the best!

Some fun stuff! And we've, pretty much, survived our first month of 2022 so things are looking good. Lets bring on February!

Brock's 14th birthday.

We celebrated Brock's 14th birthday recently. We didn't do anything too wild but he was mostly satisfied with our simple celebration style. Aside from Brock's birthday fun it's been a pretty simple week.

Any excuse to have her photo taken.

Just what he requested.

Ice cream cake from Cold Stone. (I definitely prefer Costco's chocolate cake but it never hurts to branch out occasionally.)

And on very rare occasions the cat decides she needs to nap in my lap and because it's such a rare event I decided I better document it.

We do have basketball still going on and both Charlie and McClane are still figuring it out and having fun as they learn. I attended a few minutes of the local Lone Peak Varsity girls basketball game this week and it was definitely a different experience compared to 3rd grade girls and 5th grade boys. Ha!

Basketball 2022

Charlie and McClane started their basketball season and are pretty happy about it. It was Charlie's very first time and it started with literally no practice, just a game, and she did great and made three baskets. McClane had 3 practices before his first game and he also did great and they're both excited to play a few more times in the next several weeks.

Currently the kids have been sent home from school for a 'At-home-learning' experience, that is set to go until Wednesday, in an effort to curb the Covid issues. I'm hoping it really is only a few days because these kids do not do well with the 'At-home-learning'. When will the lunacy end!?

A simple start to 2022

We started our new year fairly simple. We spent a few hours with our neighbors eating yummy food and playing games but of course I failed to get any photo evidence of how we ended 2021. Just days into the new year my last living grandparent, Grandma Baker, passed away. I feel privileged to have had some special grandparents in my life and especially lucky to have one that lived until 91. I'm confident she's happy where she is and having a great reunion with lots of family and friends.
And here are a couple photos I took this week.

Charlie likes to have her photo taken.

One of my Christmas gifts from Greg was this Stanley insulated cup and Kayli was kind enough to help me decorate it with stickers representing some of my favorite shows/things. I still need a couple more but this is a good start.

So that's how our first week of 2022 has gone. We're hopeful this year will bring positive growth and some grand adventures.
