As promised, photos from Harley's first birthday party. I don't envy Tanner's pocketbook some day when it's time for weddings. Kayli really likes to go all out for these birthdays so I can just imagine what she'll do when her girls get married. Fun stuff!
Pretty fancy.
Cute birthday girl.
Gifts galore.
Charlie didn't even get to day one of summer break before she was bored and begging to go swimming. Well I'm not too interested in going to the public pools so I hopped on Amazon and ordered a couple things that will hopefully keep Charlie happy for at least a few weeks of the summer.
Day one of summer break was a success for these two girls.
And Greg just gets stuck doing all the work.
Harley found herself a comfy spot.
So there you have it! Summer break is here and we're ready for it!
We had a nice week. Only a few more days left of school and, of course, all the days are mostly full of fun and not a lot of work. A couple of our kids and Greg helped with a little project at G & G's this past weekend and they earned a dinner out thanks to Ralph so we decided that dinner out should be at Mi Ranchito, which was great.
This is a rare treat to eat at a sit down restaurant. (At least for the kids.)
Greg went and watched Charlie and McClane perform in a fun dance festival behind there school Wednesday. It looked fun and thankfully Greg was available to attend so I didn't have to interrupt my regular Wednesday routine. (Yes I'm selfish!)
And both Charlie and McClane also had their spring piano recital this week and both did a great job. I've attached their performances for your viewing pleasure or you can skip it.
So that's the week's highlights. It was also Harley's 1st birthday this week but her official birthday party won't be until tomorrow afternoon so I'll post photos next time.
I can't believe we're down to the last week of school and I really can't believe what crazy weather we've had this spring. It was snowing this morning and the wind storm last night was ridiculous and nearly fatal for Greg who was nearly clobbered by one of the limbs from our neighbors dead but ginormous trees last night. I'm really hoping we start seeing some warmer temperatures soon!
We had such a fun time with my sister and her family and we were sad to see them go but we're excited to have them closer and hopefully this new chapter goes smoothly for them in Idaho. And before they left we got a few more great photos and videos to help us remember all the fun we had while they were here. The following two videos are from the great Mother's Day program the girls performed for Jackie and me. (They may not be in the right order but you'll get the idea.)
Mother's Day breakfast.
Meeting the newest cousin for the first time.
Harley and Jovi playing peek-a-boo.
Charlie had so much fun with her cousins and was sad to see them go but she had a fun field trip to look forward to and she did have a great time.
So that's our week in photos for the most part. Greg and I drove to Nyssa to help transport some of the Atkinson's luggage. We had a nice visit with Tad and Megan and a fun little get away for ourselves. And of course we enjoyed spending a few more hours with Jackie and the family before leaving them.
On a side note, we stayed in Ontario and went to Wal-mart after 9 p.m. and I felt like I was on a different planet! To say there were a few 'strange' characters would be an understatement. Anyway, we made it through the night and Greg never had to pull his weapon, ha ha!
Charlie is having so much fun with her cousins and is constantly in a state of joy or true anxiety and sadness. She bounces from happy they're here to devastated that they're not staying forever. She's going to have to move to Idaho with them as well as Smalls. I've never witnessed such an emotional mess of a girl!
Learning to adapt to all the fun you can have in America.
Carter went to his Jr. Prom and had a pretty great time with his cute date, Anika. He was beyond self conscious about his hair but it is what it is. He did get a hair cut two days later and looks a ton better but why would he get a hair cut before prom, that would be dumb.
Buddies and neighbors, Jethro and Caden.
Yummy Costa Vida in the Johnsen's backyard.
Great group of friends.
Back to cousin fun!
Twinning!
These girls had a lemonade stand and because we live in such a great neighborhood they cleaned up, making $33 in 45 minutes! (The Australian accent didn't hurt their sales either.) Kirra sent most customers away with a "Have a lovely day." Adorable!
You have to have a lemonade stand if you live in America.
It was one customer after another.
They even talked siblings into buying.
More twinning.
And the ultimate welcome to America was planned just for the Atkinson's (maybe!?), Hope of America. It was McClane's turn to participate and it was a great night and it was made even better thanks to a secret parking lot I was turned on to.
Red like his oldest sibling was many years ago.
This is such a fun program.
McClane is the fourth row up, middle section about 5 seats in. You can see him, right?
So that's just a bit of the fun we've had all week. We are so happy to have Jackie, Ben and the girls here and we wish they could live next door but we're happy, enough, to have them as close as Idaho and we're going to enjoy these last few days with them.
